Dr. Wingo and Dr. Gumz recently had a paper published in Hypertension. This study shows that mice lacking the circadian clock protein Per1 have significantly lower blood pressure than wild type mice and that Per1 represses the expression of ET-1, a known regulator of renal sodium reabsorption and blood pressure.
