About Kawther Alquadan

My name is Kawther Alquadan, MD, and I am a clinical assistant professor in the UF Division of Nephrology, Hypertension & Renal Transplantation. I evaluate potential kidney transplant recipients and potential kidney donors. I also manage patients post kidney transplantation, pancreas transplantation, in addition to post-transplant complications and immunosuppression.

As a physician, my goal is to provide the best care and outcome for transplant patients. Being able to see the improvement in survival and quality of life for my patients on dialysis is extremely rewarding. In 2018, I received the Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Award — scoring in the ninety-eighth percentile.

I received my medical degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology, School of Medicine, in Irbid, Jordan, in 2009. Thereafter, I completed two years of research in T-Regulatory cell generation in vitro at University of Louisville, Kentucky, before completing my internal medicine residency at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, Alpert Medical School of Brown University. I arrived at UF to complete my nephrology and transplant nephrology fellowships.

My research interest surrounds BK virus and post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder. In 2016, I received first place at the Robert Geronemus Memorial Renal Fellows Research Competition in Delray Beach.

When not practicing at UF Health Shands Hospital, I enjoy engaging in my hobbies: playing piano, reading, swimming and traveling.
