About Olanrewaju A Olaoye

I have been practicing medicine for over two decades. I am a clinical assistant professor in the University of Florida Division of Nephrology, Hypertension & Renal Transplantation, and I treat patients for many kidney related conditions, including acute kidney disease, chronic kidney disease, diabetic kidney disease, kidney stones, difficult-to-treat hypertension and bodily electrolyte disorders, including seemingly low blood sodium levels, hyponatremia. I also perform procedures to manage some kidney disease related conditions as an interventional nephrologist, which I was awarded a fellow of American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology, or FASDIN.

I earned my medical degree form Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria and completed the requirement for the Fundamentals of Surgery and Related Sciences certification under the Irish Surgical Residency Program, or ISRP, by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. I became a surgical skills education fellow at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Then, I completed an internal medicine residency at Reading Hospital and Medical Center and a nephrology fellowship at the University of Florida.

My goal as a physician is to improve my patients everyday living by helping them manage their kidney related diseases. I also aim to provide optimal clinical care for my patients by keeping up-to-date with the latest evidence-based translational research.

Since joining the UF faculty, I have been awarded with Exemplary Teacher Awards from the UF College of Medicine in 2020 and 2022.

When not working, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and cycling
