About Chintan V Shah
Witnessing my father practice medicine in a medically underserved area inspired my route into medicine. As an assistant professor of medicine in the University of Florida Division of Nephrology, Hypertension and Renal Transplantation, I strive to help my patients obtain the best care. I focus on treating cancer patients with kidney disease. Oncology–nephrology is an emerging exciting field in medicine. This medical sub-specialty is quite rewarding as it is challenging and complex.
I received my Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in India from Medical College of Baroda. Then, I completed an internal medicine residency at Cleveland Clinic/Fairview Hospital. Afterward, I completed a nephrology fellowship at Wayne State University in 2015.
I am board-certified in internal medicine and nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. I have several research publications on related kidney topics. In my current role at UF, my excellence in teaching in an inpatient setting was recognized by the UF Division of Nephrology, Hypertension and Renal Transplantation, where I received an appreciation certification.
When not practicing at UF Health Nephrology – Shands Hospital, I enjoy staying active by running, scuba diving and playing tennis.
