Welcome to the website of the Division of Nephrology, Hypertension, & Renal Transplantation within the Department of Medicine at the University of Florida. The University of Florida is an exciting academic community filled with people passionate in their academic pursuit. The Division of Nephrology, Hypertension, & Renal Transplantation is distinguished by the impact, breadth, and depth of its clinical, training, and research programs. It is the Highest ranked Division of Nephrology within Florida and is comprised of distinguished faculty, all of whom are involved in patient care, research and education. Our research interests include cutting edge research and collaborations with Departments throughout the University.

As the current Division chief, I am preceded by a long list of influential directors of the Division, including Richard J. Johnson, M.D., former J. Robert Cade Professor; C. Craig Tisher, M.D., former Dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Florida and editor of the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology; and the late Robert Cade, M.D., inventor of Gatorade®.

The Division’s mission is to provide outstanding cutting edge clinical care in a setting of extensive basic and clinical research and training programs.
