Dialysis Services Hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis
Dialysis filters the blood of wastes and extra fluid when the kidneys are no longer able to perform this function. At UF Health, we offer multiple freestanding outpatient dialysis units and home dialysis services.
In collaboration with Dialysis Clinics Incorporated (DCI), a national dialysis chain, we provide high quality maintenance hemodialysis therapy in two locations in Gainesville; our West Unit delivers care to those patients who live in Southwest or Northwest of Gainesville, while the East Unit extends its services to those in Northeast area. Their proximity to the interstate and major highways has facilitated the commute for those patients who live in nearby towns.
UF Health Dialysis Center, our freestanding outpatient dialysis unit delivers care to patients residing in the Southern neighborhoods of Gainesville as well as those who live in the nearby towns. In these dialysis centers, we provide state-of–the art and evidence-based best practices, while using the cutting-edge technology and devices to improve the quality of the care. Due to their affiliation with the University of Florida, the patients will also have the opportunity to participate in various research activities if they wish.
